A typical starting point

Where a made-to-measure business usually starts

Glass doors and showers, aluminium windows, kitchens, wardrobes, curtains and blinds share one problem: every item is made for one customer, so one wrong number is a wasted product. The order then passes through a factory, a transport company and an installer, usually by phone.

  • Measurements arrive by chat or on paper and are re-typed for the factory.
  • Prices are quoted by hand, and comparing manufacturers means calling each one.
  • Nobody can tell the customer where the order is, and delays are explained after the customer asks.
  • Delivery and installation are arranged by calls, and a handover is a signature or a promise.

The setup with DOBUY

The customer app, the website and your admin panel come from the core platform. Three optional partner portals give each outside party its own login: the manufacturer, the transport company and the installer. Configurable modules add the product configurator, measurement checks, vendor offers, production stages and handover codes.

Take only the apps this scenario needs. The others can be added later.

How it runs day to day

  1. Customer App

    The customer configures and measures

They choose a location, build the product step by step with a live drawing, enter width, height and quantity per item, or book an on-site measuring visit.

  2. Customer App

    Offers from several manufacturers

Offers show anonymously as Manufacturer A, B and C with price, ready date and rating, with badges for lowest price and ready soonest. The customer picks one, adds accessories and pays.

  3. Manufacturer portal

    The factory produces

The manufacturer receives a production order with a cut list, without the customer’s identity, and moves it from queued through cutting, processing and fittings to quality check and ready. A later ready date needs a reason.

  4. Transport partner portal

    Transport picks up and delivers

Ready orders are grouped into loads by factory and city. A provider accepts with a driver and a vehicle big enough, and the customer can follow the delivery.

  5. Installer portal

    The installer fits it

The technician accepts a time slot, confirms the arrival and completes the on-site steps with time stamps and notes. Installation starts only after delivery.

  6. Admin Panel

    You settle and report

Orders, margins, manufacturer payables, delivery and installation fees and VAT are recorded, with reports you can export.

What stays in your hands

Handover by one-time code
Three codes are sent on WhatsApp: factory to driver, driver to customer, technician to customer. Five wrong attempts lock a code.
The customer stays informed
WhatsApp Business notifications cover order and payment confirmation, the invoice as PDF, manufacturing started, dispatch, appointment reminders, technician on the way and installation complete. Each customer chooses opt-in and language.
Your margin and fees
Set a platform margin, override it per manufacturer, and set delivery, installation and measuring fees and the VAT rate. Allocate or re-allocate an order and see the margin effect.
Your rules, your data
Roles, permissions and an activity log control who does what. Your data belongs to you, with CSV, Excel and JSON export and database backups, and it can run on your own cloud hosting.

Running this in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia the apps run in Arabic with right-to-left screens, and in English. Customers pay online (including mada) or cash on delivery, and each rider’s cash is reconciled in the admin panel. Each order gets a bilingual VAT invoice with the ZATCA QR code. Orders, stock and cash collections can sync with Tadbir ERP, FRESME’s ERP system, which covers ZATCA e-invoicing on its side.

Customers order in Arabic with right-to-left screens, or in English, and pay online including mada. Each order gets a bilingual VAT invoice with the ZATCA QR code (ZATCA Phase 1). Phase 2 e-invoicing (FATOORA integration) goes through an accredited e-invoicing provider or Tadbir ERP. The platform can run on your own cloud hosting, and we recommend a Saudi region for data residency.

Questions buyers ask

Which made-to-measure products does this suit?

Any product made to a customer’s size that needs manufacturing, delivery and often installation. Glass doors and showers, aluminium windows, kitchens, wardrobes and furniture, curtains and blinds are typical examples.

How do customers enter measurements?

They enter width, height, quantity, room and notes for each item. The platform checks the sizes against each manufacturer’s limits, and a measuring guide video is available. Customers can also book an on-site measuring visit with a date and time slot.

Can we offer prices from several manufacturers?

Yes. Each manufacturer keeps its own price list, and the customer compares anonymous offers with price, ready date and rating. You can allocate or re-allocate an order and see its margin effect.

Do manufacturers, transport companies and installers need an app?

No install is needed. Each partner works in a web portal on any device, and installers use a phone-first view.

How is a handover confirmed?

With one-time codes sent on WhatsApp: factory to driver, driver to customer and technician to customer. A code locks after five wrong attempts.

Can customers get updates on WhatsApp?

Yes, through the WhatsApp Business Platform or an authorised provider. Customers get confirmations, the invoice, production and dispatch updates and installation reminders, with opt-in and language set per customer.

Who owns the data, and where does it run?

The data belongs to your business, with full export and backups. The platform can run on your own cloud hosting, and we can discuss the region that fits your data rules.

Can it connect to our accounting?

Yes, by API. Tadbir ERP by FRESME is available as a ready option, and it also covers ZATCA e-invoicing.

What happens when something goes wrong?

Delays are recorded with a reason and the customer is told. Delivery rejections, incorrect measurements, returns and refunds are handled as recorded cases that we set up to your rules.
